Academic Contribution to Social Genetics Awareness at BilimFest Gaziantep

Dr. Badel İnce, a faculty member at Mersin University, met with students during a science event held as part of the TÜBİTAK 4007 BilimFest Gaziantep, where she delivered a presentation titled "Common Genetic Diseases and Syndromes in Society."
The event, which aimed to disseminate scientific knowledge regarding genetic diseases and syndromes to various segments of society, covered the fundamental mechanisms of these conditions, the importance of early awareness, and the value of genetic information for public health. By conveying scientific concepts in accessible language, the presentation helped foster an interest in genetics among young people and enhanced their scientific awareness.
As a significant reflection of the mission of universities to contribute to society, this event underscored the importance of initiatives designed to extend academic knowledge beyond university boundaries, strengthen scientific literacy, and connect younger generations with science.
Mersin University continues to contribute to education, awareness, and social development through events that bring its scientific knowledge and expertise to the public.
