Medicine is a special profession that touches human life most closely and that calls not only for knowledge and skill but also for a great sense of responsibility and a strong sense of humanity. The trust a patient places in their physician is shaped not only by scientific knowledge and professional competence but also by understanding, empathy, commitment to ethical values and respect for human dignity. At Mersin University Faculty of Medicine, we build our approach to medical education on the guidance of science and on an understanding of medicine that places the human being at its centre.

Our undergraduate medical programme has been accredited three times by TEPDAD, and the current accreditation is valid until 2031. In specialty training, 10 of our departments and 1 division are accredited in the 2026-2027 academic year.
